How to Install a Free SSL Certificate in cPanel

An SSL certificate turns http:// into https://, shows the padlock in the browser and is a Google ranking signal. Every Hostingsubidha plan includes free Let's Encrypt SSL that cPanel's AutoSSL installs and renews automatically.

1. Check if SSL is already active

Enter your domain in our free SSL Checker. If it shows a valid, trusted certificate that covers your domain and www, you're done — skip to step 3.

2. Run AutoSSL in cPanel

  1. Make sure the domain points to your hosting — AutoSSL can only validate domains that resolve to our server. Check with the DNS Checker.
  2. In cPanel, open Security → SSL/TLS Status.
  3. Click Run AutoSSL. After a few minutes the domains should show a green padlock status.
Tip: If a domain fails validation, the SSL/TLS Status page shows the reason — most often DNS still pointing elsewhere.

3. Force HTTPS

  • In cPanel, open Domains and turn on Force HTTPS Redirect for your domain.
  • For WordPress, set both URLs in Settings → General to https://.

4. Fix “mixed content” warnings

If the padlock is missing even though SSL is installed, some images or scripts are still loaded over http://. Update those links to https:// (in WordPress a search-and-replace plugin can do it).

Renewal

Let's Encrypt certificates are valid for 90 days. AutoSSL renews them automatically before they expire — you don't need to do anything. You can confirm the expiry date anytime with the SSL Checker.
