After buying hosting, your domain has to be told where your website lives. There are two ways to do it: change the nameservers, or add an A record. Here's when to use each and how to verify it worked.
Nameservers or A record?
| Change nameservers | Add an A record | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Most users — hosting manages all DNS | Keeping DNS at your registrar or Cloudflare |
| Email & subdomains | Work automatically in cPanel | You add MX/other records yourself |
| Where you change it | Domain registrar | Your current DNS provider |
Option 1: change the nameservers
- Find your nameservers in your hosting welcome email (or ask us on Telegram @hostingsubidhaowner).
- Log in to your domain registrar. If you bought the domain from us, open Client Area → Domains → Manage → Nameservers.
- Replace the existing nameservers with the ones from your welcome email and save.
Option 2: add an A record
- Find your server IP in the welcome email or in cPanel (right sidebar → Shared IP Address).
- At your DNS provider, create an A record for
@pointing to that IP. - Create a CNAME for
wwwpointing to your domain (or another A record to the same IP).
Check propagation
DNS changes are cached by servers around the world, so they don't appear everywhere instantly. Record changes usually show within minutes to a few hours; nameserver changes can take up to 24–48 hours.
Use our free DNS Checker to see what 15 DNS servers worldwide return for your domain (check NS for nameservers or A for the IP). You can also confirm the nameservers with the WHOIS Lookup.
